Title:                               Data Services Manager, Donor Relations

Reports to:                Director, Development Strategy

Job Summary:           The Data Services Manager strategically analyzes, reports and maintains data used by Development gift officers, leadership, staff, and partners across the Heritage enterprise to cultivate and engage donors and prospects. Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Portfolio Management, the Data Services Manager is responsible for coordinating the data needs of the Donor Relations team, including creating routine reports critical to leadership, responding to gift officers’ data-related requests, capturing and organizing event data, and ensuring database integrity and hygiene. This position partners  with vendors and Development colleagues to manage and analyze model scores and predictive data to identify prospects and create and record fundraising performance metrics for gift officers.

A key member of the Development team, this position also coordinates the team’s moves management strategy from a data perspective. The Data Services Manager must be a meticulous and energetic professional with a commitment to producing a high-quality work product and on-time project completion.

 

Job Duties:

  • Oversee management of donor data, ensuring donor and prospect information is up-to-date, accurate, and properly documented within the database.
  • Review and create systems that ensure data hygiene and accuracy.
  • Fulfill recurring and ad-hoc reporting needs of Donor Relations, including running weekly call reports, performance reports, leadership reports, data for strategy sessions and other needs.
  • Regularly review major and principal gift pipeline and participate in management meetings to review progress towards overall fundraising goals.
  • Facilitate and provide strategic input for regular portfolio review and prospect strategy sessions among individual gift officers, researchers, the Assistant Director, Portfolio Management, the Director, and other stakeholders, as needed.
  • Implement policies, procedures, and systems necessary for the identification, evaluation, and tracking of prospects, including contact reporting and proposal recording.
  • Evaluate and manage vendor relationships.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues on the Heritage IT and Membership teams.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Donor Relations and the Assistant Director of Portfolio Management.

 

Qualifications:

Education:                   Bachelor's degree or IT certification

Experience:                    4+ years of experience in data management or related position or educational equivalent; some fundraising experience preferred

Communication:         Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Technology:                Skilled in Microsoft Office applications with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel highly preferred; proficient knowledge of CRM functions and fundraising platforms highly preferred; comfortable with computer and/or query logic

The salary range for this role is $78,000 - $97,000 annually. This range is a good-faith estimate, and the final salary offered to a selected candidate depends on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, education, and other qualifications; internal and external market pay for comparable jobs; and level of hire based on aforementioned qualifications.
