Title: assistant, Outreach
Reports to: Director, Outreach
Job Summary: The Assistant plays an important role in Heritage’s mission to grow, build, and serve the Conservative Movement. The Assistant provides critical administrative and operational support to both the Director of Outreach and the broader outreach team. This role combines data and reporting management, travel coordination, and team support to help advance Heritage's mission within the Conservative Movement. The assistant manages complex logistics, maintains accurate data systems, and ensures smooth day-to-day operations while supporting various team initiatives and events. This is a full-time, temporary position.Job Duties:
Ensure the efficient operations of the Outreach team:- Manage information flow to and from Director with other departments and non-Heritage sources including outside correspondence, requests for meetings, phone messages, and follow-up action.
- Track daily calendars, annual goals, and departmental budgets.
- Assist in travel planning and timely submission of expense reports.
- Coordinate meetings and briefings with internal and external partners, including follow-up.
- Produce weekly, quarterly, and annual departmental reports.
- Maintain inventory and develop collateral as needed.
- Manage interns as needed.
- Work in a way that produces timely results and builds strong relationships within Heritage and across the movement.
- Maintains clean and accurate information within CRM databases.
- Effectively represent The Heritage Foundation and the Outreach department to outside guests and in public venues to advance our vision and mission. This includes travel and representing Heritage at conferences.
- Support Director and other members of the Outreach team – as needed – with projects and special initiatives.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Experience: Some administrative experience (particularly in a busy setting)
Technology: Proficient in MS Office including Excel and Outlook; Experience with CRM Software preferred.
Communication: Effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of the organization and external stakeholders.

- Exhibits excellent organizational skills – including the ability to anticipate, prioritize, and expedite tasks in a busy office.
- Works independently and takes initiative.
- Exercises good judgment and maintains confidentiality.
Benefits and Salary:
The salary for this role is $50,000 annually. As a temporary position, this role is eligible for some of The Heritage Foundation’s benefits package, including PTO and sick leave.
