Development Researcher (Part-Time)

Title:                       Development Researcher (Part-time)

Reports to:             Director, Donor Relations

Job Summary:        The Development Researcher identifies donors with both the capacity and inclination to make a major gift to Heritage.  The Researcher will work with assigned solicitors to help ensure movement of these individuals and organizations through the fundraising cycle.

Job Duties:

  • Use research tools to identify prospects; prepare background research; assign ratings; and make updates in the database.
  • Manage prospect pool for assigned territories and promote appropriate times for engagement.
  • Coordinate special project related to corporate fundraising.

Skill Factors:

Education:             Bachelor’s Degree

Experience:           3 – 5 years of relevant experience; excellent computer and administrative skills

Special Skills/Requirements:

  • Understand and support the Heritage mission and vision for America, and the department's goals and objectives.
  • Possess a working knowledge of research tools (i.e., Nexis, Donor Search, iWave) and database management
  • Demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills with special attention to detail
  • Exhibit “team player” mentality
