Title:                         Senior Marketing Associate

Reports to:            Director, Marketing

Job Summary:       The Senior Marketing Associate is responsible for leading the development and coordination of marketing strategies and campaigns that promote conservative policy solutions and build awareness of The Heritage Foundation in conjunction with the marketing team and other key departments across Heritage. The position will develop and execute paid advertising and marketing efforts to promote the Heritage brand. The Senior Marketing Associate will ensure adherence to Heritage’s brand standards throughout these activities.

Job Duties:

  • Develop and monitor execution of marketing campaign strategies, including developing marketing campaign plans, leading campaign strategy meetings, and monitoring and reporting on campaign progress.
  • Execute Heritage marketing campaigns, overseeing and contributing to creative asset creation, managing media buys and placement, and providing metric tracking.
  • Help establish priorities, prepare and monitor the use of campaign resources. Use assigned resources effectively to achieve Heritage objectives.
  • Think creatively and provides direction on marketing programs and projects.
  • Recommend marketing strategies, key messages, and target audiences for advancing Heritage brand, policy objectives, and research.
  • Facilitate and coordinate relationships with media buying, advertising, and technology firms on marketing projects.
  • Work closely with teams across Communications to fully integrate marketing activities.
  • Help shape Heritage efforts to measure effectiveness of marketing activities, optimize resources and increase results.

Skill Factors:

Education:            Bachelor’s degree in marketing, market research, or related field

Experience:          Minimum of 5-7 years in marketing or related field. Past marketing, brand management, or advertising experience. Knowledge with the lifecycle and tactics of a marketing campaign. Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, survey techniques, and measures a plus.

Communication:   Excellent writing, presentation, and public speaking skills. An articulate advocate of Heritage’s vision and mission.

Computers:           Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
