Title: Research Fellow, Tax Policy
Reports to: Director, Grover M. Hermann Center for the Federal Budget
Job Summary: The Research Fellow, Tax Policy, develops and advances in-depth policy analysis and ground-breaking scholarly research by publishing research papers, op-eds, and books with a focus on taxation and how it affects the economy and the federal budget. This position assists in maintaining a high-profile and national reputation for The Heritage Foundation and advances Heritage priorities by testifying before Congress, conducting media interviews, developing strategic relationships to advance policy, and participating in major public functions and professional conferences related to taxation. The Research Fellow must possess a strong quantitative background.

Qualifications:
Education: Ph.D. in economics preferred or relevant graduate degree or equivalent achievement in the field
Experience: 10+ years’ professional experience
Communications: Effective writer and public speaker; able to communicate policy positions in multiple media and to Congress
Technology: Microsoft Suite and Outlook and other software necessary for research

The salary range for this role is $140,000 - $175,000 annually. This range is a good-faith estimate, and the final salary offered to a selected candidate depends on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, education, and other qualifications; internal and external market pay for comparable jobs; and level of hire based on aforementioned qualifications.
