Title: Senior Policy Analyst, Center for Technology Policy
Reports to: Director, Center for Technology Policy
The Center for Technology Policy (CTP) within the Davis Institute for National Security and Foreign Policy, provides the best conservative insight and advice on the most important technology policy issues. The CTP is responsible for developing, organizing, and leading technology public policy at Heritage and pioneering the use of technology in public policy analysis, including the integration of new tools, analytic frameworks, and workflows.
The CTP is looking for an experienced Senior Policy Analyst who will research and advocate policies based on “the principles of free enterprise, limited government, individual freedom, traditional American values, and a strong national defense." The CTP engages all aspects of technology policy, including its intersection with defense, homeland security, economic, legal, and social policy. Considering this, a successful candidate must be technically informed, intellectually curious, professionally agile, self-motivated, collaborative, and a proven communicator -- both verbally and in writing.
Education: Undergraduate degree in relevant field or specific, demonstrated technical expertise in a technology-relevant field. Graduate degree or comparable knowledge of relevant technologies and disciplines preferred.
Experience: At least five years engagement in policy development and advocacy or in a technology-related field. Record of influence on policy development. Strong knowledge of technology and policy as well as formal analytic disciplines and tools. Demonstrated capability for high-quality research with a record of publication.
