Title:                         Research Assistant (Temporary)

Reports to:             Director, B. Kenneth Simon Center for American Studies and AWC Family Foundation Fellow

Job Summary:          The Research Assistant is responsible for assisting both management and staff in researching papers, conducting projects and organizing meetings, events, and seminars. Aids the Director and the Vice President with special administrative tasks. Publish blogs, attend lectures and briefings on Capitol Hill, while helping with the Center’s various educational programs and administrative functions. Help others do their job as well as developing their own skills in research and writing.  The one-year Research Assistant position is for recent graduates interested in American political thought and politics. Conduct in-depth research projects under the guidance of the Director of the B. Kenneth Simon Center for American Studies, as well as assist him with some light administrative work.

Job Duties:

  • Provide research support for management and staff.
  • Assist with special projects.
  • Assist at events and meetings.
  • Prepares remarks for speeches and conferences.
  • Provides research for Congressional testimonies.
  • Provides research for media events.
  • Participates in the public policy community.

Qualifications:

Education:                   B.A.

Experience:                 Entry level

Communication:         Competent writer

Technology:                MS Office and Outlook

Other Requirements:

  • Understand and support the Heritage mission and vision for America, True North conservative principles, and the department’s goals and objectives.
