Title:                Senior Job Bank Associate

Reports to:    Director, Phillip N. Truluck Center for Leadership Development

Job Summary:  The Senior Job Bank Associate facilitates the job placement of professionals in The Heritage Foundation’s network in order to maximize their short and long-term impact on public policy. The Senior Job Bank Associate will work across the organization to identify, engage, evaluate, and match talented conservatives from Heritage’s audiences with priority job placement opportunities.

Job Duties:

  • Review Heritage’s staff, intern, fellowship, and training alumni data, and acquired contacts from the Job Bank, conferences, and events, to identify professionals whose credentials match current and future job placement opportunities.
  • Liaise with internal colleagues to gather necessary data on potential candidate recommendations.
  • Conduct extensive individualized outreach to gather necessary data from potential candidate recommendations.
  • Record new placement data.
  • Evaluate potential candidate recommendations.
  • Represent Heritage at targeted events and conferences to recruit talent for placement.
  • Identify skill and talent gaps and recommend recruiting and training solutions.
  • In partnership with Senior Job Bank Manager, provide career counseling to Heritage’s interns and as requested, Job Bank subscribers.
  • Compile and send the Job Bank’s weekly emails to subscribers as necessary.
  • Provide recommendations for Heritage jobs, internships, fellowships, and trainings as strong candidates are identified over the course of external placement work.
  • Produce language for marketing collateral and event pages related to Job Bank initiatives.


Education:                   Bachelor’s degree

Experience:                 5 or more years of relevant professional experience, experience on Capitol Hill or in a Presidential Administration strongly preferred.

Communication:         Excellent editing and writing skills, attention to detail, strong interpersonal and collaborative skills

Technology:                Microsoft Office and Outlook, CRM.

Other Requirements:

  • Understand and support the Heritage mission and vision for America.
  • Deep understanding of the conservative movement.
  • Knowledge of hiring norms and processes on Capitol Hill and in Presidential Administrations, and ability to match resumes to jobs.
  • Ability to maintain discretion and handle sensitive data.
