Research Assistant

Title:                         Research Assistant

Reports to:             Director, DeVos Center for Religion and Civil Society

Job Summary:          The Research Assistant has responsibility for understanding the Heritage Foundation’s systems, priorities, and principles. Manage the DeVos’ Center’s private and public events, publications, and database of contacts. Attend meetings, including with the Legislative and Executive branch officials, to represent the DeVos Center. Provide research assistance to other DeVos team members and write their own publications for the Daily Signal and other news outlets, and co-author articles and research papers with other DeVos team members. Coordinate conference calls and large meetings.

Job Duties:

  • Provide research support for management and staff.
  • Provide logistical (including arranging travel, reporting expenses and maintaining team accounts) support for management and staff.
  • Assist with special projects.
  • Assist with logistics at virtual and live events and meetings.
  • Prepares remarks for speeches and conferences.
  • Provides research for Congressional testimonies.
  • Provides research for media events.
  • Participates in the public policy community.
  • Write opeds and other articles.


Education:                  B.A.

Experience:                 Entry level

Communication:         Competent writer

Technology:                MS Office and Outlook

Special Skills/Requirements:

  • Understand and support the Heritage mission and vision for America, and the DeVos Center's goals and objectives, including promotion of Life, Marriage, and Religious Liberty.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and interact with the public, including Executive Branch and Hill staff.
